in search of comfort and rest (2011)

This floor sculpture was created as part of my participation in an artist residency sponsored by YATOO, which is a Korean nature artist association founded in 1981. The work was created by first collecting locally-found natural materials and then adhering them onto a bed-like form.  The work was left in the forest on a mountainside where the materials originated.

CRYPTOMERIA JAPONICA (JAPANESE CEDAR)

Created for the "7th Annual Art Exhibition in the Forest of Yokohama," this sculpture was built by stacking and piling hundreds of fallen cedar branches. The 2014 project was sponsored by MoriLab and drew together a small group of invited international and local artists. It was organized by the group Creation and Voice of the Woods, based in Yokohama, Japan.
